Nick explains a new feature where the AI detects if a caller is upset or crying and adjusts its voice and tone to match, something that didn’t exist even 6 months prior.
“This AI can tell when someone’s crying on the phone, and it adjusts its tone in real time. That’s where this tech is now.”
I think we’ve passed the threshold where you can tell if you’re talking to an AI or not. It’s so fast and good that when you’re chatting with someone, it’s impossible to tell at this point. In fact, you could probably tell it’s human because it’s less effective. Like they’re slower, so it actually works the other way around. You’re like, “I need a faster resolution on this.” Yeah, I think I need to get my wife that emotion detection and get some of those maybe implanted in my own head in Neuralink or something like that. That’s pretty cool.
That’s nice. But yeah, I mean on the voice side, it’s just incredible. Now, if you go into one of these demos and you are just like your ear is caught on the ground, and you’re just looking for an opportunity for that “I got you” moment where you’re like, “Of course,”—but your clients are not calling in focused on this. They want an answer to their question. I can’t tell you how many times we have our clients get calls from their clients saying, “Hey, sorry I called yesterday. I spoke to Jim. He was super nice. Can I get him back on the line? I have a follow-up question,” and Jim was an AI. So that happens often.
