AI that replaces your people, or AI that makes them better?
Nick D’Urbano on why Porter is built to work with coaches and teams, not instead of them.
Ben: Let’s talk about—there’s already a lot of restoration companies out there, home service companies. They’re engaging with coaching consultants already in person. Can you speak to how this might be a benefit, or even are we replacing those guys, or is there room for everybody?
Nick: No, certainly not. Nothing beats physical coaching. The whole premise of Porter is to make what they’re doing more effective and efficient.
Ben: Sure.
Nick: You want individuals that are subject matter experts to build relationships with your team, to build coaching, to build training. I would not outsource such a critical component of your business to a technology solution. Really, what we’re doing is making it much more effective for them to do their job and achieve a better outcome.
I mean, in the same way, Ben, for you, like I think you’d probably not want to onboard a client that doesn’t have CallRail or call tracking. How are you supposed to attribute whether or not you’re effective? Like, you would not engage a client without that technology. In a similar way, I think most coaches are not going to want to engage a client without our technology. They’re going to want to see what’s going on so that they can actually be effective in their coaching, in their mandate.
So, I would say that the whole goal with Porter is to make people better using technology, which is very different from a lot of tools which is to replace people with technology. So, I’m also really excited about that mission.
