What’s going on everybody. If you run a restoration company, you’ve done any kind of digital marketing ever, then you know SEO is a very important aspect of what you need to be doing. And part of ranking well on Google is having the right keywords on your website and having a website that’s optimized for those keywords for specific services that you want to rank for.
But did you know that you can actually over optimize keywords on your website that can actually hurt you? That’s right, if you have too many keywords and it doesn’t make sense, the kind of text and content that you have on your website, Google can actually penalize you for over optimization of certain keywords.
So we see it a lot with customers of ours that we bring in new, when we’re taking a look and we’re auditing their websites and they have water damage restoration in this city 3,000 times in the content of their website, it really just doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. Remember, Google wants authentic information.
content from you. That makes sense. That is very user friendly. So take a look at your website. Make sure that you are not over optimizing keywords. Make sure you’re not stuffing keywords in paragraphs where they don’t belong. There are a ton of tools online that you can use that can actually help you check if you are over optimized.
But one of the easiest ways to know that is if you’re ranking well or not. So if you’ve been doing SEO for a long time, over five or six months, and you’re really not seeing any movement in your keywords, you may want to talk to your agency or your in house team and make sure you’re not over optimizing certain keywords for your website.
