As business owners and entrepreneurs, we know you are putting (or paying someone to!) a lot of time and effort into making your website a beautiful, money making machine- but how do you know if that work is paying off?

Here is a simple way that you can check if your website is being indexed by Google, and make sure that your site is getting the recognition it deserves!

Does Google even know your website exists? Here’s a really simple, easy way to check if your website is getting indexed by Google, meaning it’s showing up in Google’s database. So the first thing you want to do is go to the URL, alright? Then delete everything from here. the https, then type in “site”, semicolon, and hit “ENTER”.

And if you can see, your website in the Google search results, then that means this specific page, not the entire website, but at least this page in this case for Ironclad, it’s our homepage, it’s getting indexed by Google.

Here’s a way to see if your specific landing page on your website is not getting indexed. So this is a landing page is for page that does not even exist. All right? So you can see over here. Here’s our URL. And what I’m going to do is like I showed you before, I’m going to delete this part. I’m going to type in “Site”, semicolon, and ENTER.

And you can see in the Google search results, the page that I just showed is not showing. So that’s how you can tell if a specific page on your website is not getting indexed by Google if it looks like this.

So, you did a test to see if all the pages on your website are getting indexed by Google or not. And you noticed one of the pages, or maybe a few, maybe more than that are not getting indexed by Google. So now you want to know, how do you make sure that those pages get indexed?

Here’s one way to do that, all right? What you want to do is go to your Google Search Console. If you don’t know how to set this up, you can do a search on YouTube, but what you want to go from here is go to the Sitemap Section and then you’ll see over here, Submitted Sitemaps. And then you can see all the different sections of our website.

And what we do is, our team goes in and types in this section over here, Sitemap XML. Types in, enters Sitemap for this extension and then, it goes into Google database. Now keep in mind, this doesn’t guarantee it’s going to get into all the pages are going to get into Google’s database as far as getting indexed.

But it’s one way to at least make sure that you are in the right direction of submitting all the pages. Now, if you still don’t see some of your pages getting indexed, then that’s a more advanced lesson that needs expert help, like Ironclad. Alright! So, there you go.
