Your Restoration Company’s website might be bringing in plenty of traffic and losing almost all of it before anyone calls.
In this episode of the Restoration Rundown, Ben Ricciardi breaks down the 6 most common website mistakes costing restoration contractors real jobs, and exactly how to fix each one.
Somebody that’s going onto your website during an emergency is scared, and scared people are looking for reassurance, right? The commercial side, you’re dealing with a different customer, but there’s still some level of fear. They’ve been down the road with different restoration companies and there’s some pain points or some PTSD that exists.
But either way, either customer is afraid in some regard. And if there’s nothing on your website that shows real reviews, certifications, you know, that you’re IICRC certified or you’ve got all the different certs—general contractor, whatever it may be, licensed plumber, journeyman electrician—or proof that you’ve actually handled situations like theirs, you’re just asking them to trust you on faith alone.
With all these other trust signals that exist out there—your Google Business Profile with the Google reviews, all the other types of review channels, the testimonial prevalence of social media, and people sharing things like—you need to have this stuff on your website. Showcase a few real reviews visible at the top of your page or close to the top, right?
Certs and licensing clearly shown on your homepage. Maybe a quick line like “Responding to emergencies in your area since 1982,” “Family-owned and operated since 1902,” right? Whatever is true for your company just needs to be visible, because a stressed-out visitor isn’t going to dig for that information.
If Google doesn’t trust that you handle these types of losses, or you handle these types of plumbing jobs, or you handle these types of electricals or re-roofs, and they don’t see proof that you’re doing it over and over again with posting on your Google Business Profile or having those pictures updated regularly on your website, they’re not going to trust you to do that.
