Most Restoration owners are proud of the wrong number.

They check their website traffic, see visitors are up, and call it a win.

But a visitor isn’t a customer, it’s just someone who poured into the top of the bucket. What actually matters is how many make it all the way through to a booked job.

In this week’s episode of the Restoration Rundown, I break down 6 specific holes costing Restoration Companies real jobs on their own websites, buried phone numbers, weak calls to action, long intake forms, slow mobile load times, missing trust signals, and unclear service pages.

None of these require a full rebuild to fix. Small changes compound.

What do you think is the hole in the bucket for your Restoration Company?

Remember, your website is not a brochure. Let’s look at how you can audit your own website this week. And this is going to be a fun one for you, and it doesn’t take very long. But here’s how you find your holes:

Pull up your website on your phone. Time yourself finding your phone number. Count how many clicks it takes to reach a way to contact you. Look at your forms. Count all the fields on your contact forms. Check the load time on your website. Pull up your competitor’s website—somebody that’s beating you on Google in the organic and map sections, right? Pair your site against theirs. That’s a really easy metric.

And then take a look at their site, right? Look at your homepage and ask yourself really honestly: “Does this tell a stressed-out visitor exactly what to do? Does it just tell them about you?”

None of this requires a full website rebuild in some cases to start fixing little things here and there. Small changes will compound over time. Moving your phone number above the fold is a very easy fix—making sure it’s clickable. Cutting your contact form maybe to three fields: name, phone number, and, you know, if they want to leave a message, and don’t make the message part required.

Making sure you have a way to check those forms constantly, right? You got big thing. Make sure somebody’s answering the phone 24/7. If you talk to talk, you got to walk the walk. And that goes with your contact form. Some people don’t fill out or don’t click your phone number—they’ll fill out a contact form, and make sure you have a way to check that. I cannot tell you how many websites, you know, they’re set up perfectly, nobody’s checking the email for the contact form. So, make sure you’re getting all of that.
