Control always beats hope.

Hope is not a strategy, but it’s the strategy most restoration companies are unknowingly running.

Are you in control of your lead flow, or are you relying on hope to keep those trucks moving when things get quiet?

This is just part of what we will be covering on this episode we are so excited for- Built to Win, with yours truly.

This is my favorite control. Can you turn the dial? Control. This pillar is about the ability to keep your trucks rolling when the rest of the market is going quiet. Paid ads are the fastest lever, right? LSA, pay-per-click, Google ads, all the other ads are going to fill gaps when the storms don’t come, when your referrals are slowing down, when a phone stops ringing, when your trucks are parked, right?

They’re not meant to be your only source of work. Paid ads aren’t growth. They’re just leverage, right? Control does two things: it fills gaps and it protects your margins. Control is what predicts your profitability on both sides—getting the work, keeping what you made from it.

Control beats hope. And I’ll leave you with this: hope is not a strategy. It’s the strategy most restoration companies are unknowingly running. Waiting for the next storm, waiting for a referral to call, waiting for things to pick up. That is the difference between a company that’s busy and a company that’s built.
