You never want to put all your eggs in one basket when it comes to opportunities for your restoration business. Here’s a clip from our recent Restoration Rundown podcast with our guest Michelle Blevins (Cleaning & Restoration Magazine) where she talks about industry networking and building relationships.
“I think finding peers that are open to discussion of relationships, right? So much of life is a relationship game. So I guess that would be my first recommendation on where to start. There are a lot of conferences and trade shows to pick from within the industry. My editor’s note in the last magazine was on a few of them, so people could go back and look at that, to maybe get a few ideas. But there are also a lot of experts like, you have a great podcast and you talk about marketing, and you talk to a lot of other experts in the industry like Gokul and other people. There are so many different places you could go.
Also, every podcast in the industry is different, which I really appreciate. No two podcasts are even remotely similar in my opinion. So you can find value from everybody. Everybody’s talking to different people. Everybody’s having different conversations. The platforms are different, the style is different, so like, if my podcast isn’t your cup of tea, or if Ben’s podcast isn’t your cup of tea, but hopefully it does cause you’re listening to it, so it must be. Just go and search for the other podcasts in the industry.”
